Mammootty supports landslide survivor Sandhya after amputation

In a profound gesture of compassion, Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty has emerged as a steadfast pillar of support for Sandhya, a woman who endured unimaginable tragedy during the recent Adimali landslide. The disaster claimed her husband and her home, leaving Sandhya with severe injuries to both legs.

A Lifeline in Critical Care

After a grueling 38-day battle for life in the Intensive Care Unit, Sandhya was finally discharged from the hospital. Her extensive medical journey, which included multiple surgeries and critical care, was fully funded by Mammootty. The catastrophic injuries to her legs ultimately led to the amputation of one.

Before leaving the hospital, Sandhya expressed a deep, heartfelt wish to speak to the megastar who had made her recovery possible. The moment Mammootty learned of her desire, he immediately connected with her through a video call, offering solace and reassurance.

"Don't Worry, We Will Find a Solution": A Heartfelt Conversation

In a touching video shared on social media, Sandhya can be seen breaking down as she informs Mammootty about the amputation of her leg. Responding with remarkable calm and empathy, Mammootty comforted her, saying, "Don’t worry, we will find a solution."

The actor began the conversation by inquiring about her health. Sandhya replied, "My leg still hurts, sir, but the pain is coming down." Mammootty once again offered words of comfort and a promise for the future: "Don’t worry, we will do whatever is possible. When the time comes, they will fix another leg for you, we will look into everything."

Support Extending Beyond Medical Bills

Demonstrating that his concern went far beyond covering hospital expenses, Mammootty also asked Sandhya if she had applied for assistance to rebuild her home. She responded that she had not, citing a lack of information and mentioning she was from Adimali Panchayat.

Understanding the complexities she would face in rebuilding her life, Mammootty gave a crucial assurance. He promised that his support would not conclude with her medical treatment, vowing continued help and guidance in the days ahead.

In a related update from his professional front, Mammootty's highly anticipated crime thriller 'Kalamkaval' is set for release on December 5. The film, which features the actor in a dark role alongside Vinayakan, has reportedly seen its pre-sales cross an impressive Rs 2 crores.
