Mayweather Ordered to Pay $1M in Back Child Support

Floyd Mayweather Jr has reportedly been ordered by a court to pay nearly $1 million in back child support following a legal case involving a woman from Las Vegas. According to reports, the court declared Mayweather the legal father of a child born in December 2021 after a lengthy legal process that began in 2023.

Details of the Case

The woman involved in the case, Paige Moorehead, reportedly claimed she had been in a long-term relationship of nearly eight years with Mayweather before they separated in 2021. Reportedly, she worked as a dancer in his Las Vegas strip club. The court later ordered the undefeated boxing legend to make large monthly payments for child support along with a major backdated amount. The decision has attracted huge attention considering Mayweather's reputation as one of the richest athletes in combat sports history and his luxurious lifestyle throughout his professional career.

Financial Ruling

Reports by TMZ stated that the court ordered Floyd Mayweather Jr to pay $32,850 every month in child support. In addition, he must also cover nearly $933,000 in back payments after already contributing around $151,000 previously. The ruling also allows the child's mother to place a lien worth up to $2 million on one of Mayweather's California properties as financial protection.

Legal Timeline

The case reportedly began in June 2023 when Paige Moorehead approached the courts seeking legal recognition and support. Months later, Mayweather was officially declared the child's legal father. Moorehead claimed she had been in a relationship with the boxing superstar for almost eight years before their split. According to her statement, the relationship ended shortly after Mayweather learned about the pregnancy.

Mayweather's Career and Recent Links

Despite the legal situation, Mayweather remains one of the biggest names in combat sports. The 49-year-old retired with a perfect professional record of 50 wins and no losses. Over the years, he defeated several major champions and became one of the highest-paid athletes in sports history. His most recent appearance came in an exhibition fight against John Gotti III in August 2024.

Meanwhile, Mayweather's name has also recently been linked with other boxing legends, Mike Tyson and Manny Pacquiao. Earlier this year, Tyson hinted that a potential fight between the two icons could happen in the future. Speaking in an interview, Tyson suggested discussions were moving forward and claimed he would not ignore such an opportunity after being challenged. Similarly, Pacquiao is also gearing up for a fight with Mayweather; however, they have some contract disputes. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the possibility of the legends sharing the ring again has already created major excitement among boxing fans worldwide.
