Meghan Markle has shared intimate moments from her family's life in a series of Instagram videos, offering fans a rare glimpse into her Montecito home. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, posted two clips on Thursday, April 30, filmed in the family's chicken coop, which they lovingly call 'Archie's Chick Inn.'
A Sweet Nickname Revealed
In the videos, Meghan is seen feeding chickens alongside Jonathan Grahm, founder of the Los Angeles-based artisan chocolate brand Compartés. 'When the chocolate man comes to see the chickens,' Meghan says with a laugh at the start of the first video, as she pans the camera to show the coop. She then turns the camera to reveal two of the family's chickens. In the background, one of Meghan and Prince Harry's children is heard saying, 'Mom, I got another gray one!'—likely collecting eggs. Meghan replies, 'Thanks sweetheart!' revealing the tender nickname she uses for her child.
Mother's Day Collection with Compartés
The Duchess recently collaborated with Compartés on a Mother's Day collection for her lifestyle brand, As Ever. The collection features two candles inspired by her children's birthdays. One candle, Signature Candle No. 506, is tied to Archie's May 6 birthday and is described as 'a warm, comforting scent' with notes of ginger, neroli, and cashmere—a subtle nod to his red hair. The second candle, inspired by Lilibet's June 4 birthday, is 'a light, floral scent, adding a sense of brightness and openness to the home,' with notes of amber, water lily, and santal. The candles can be bundled with a Compartés chocolate box to complete the Mother's Day set.
Previous Glimpses of Family Life
Meghan has previously offered glimpses into the chicken coop. In March, she shared an Instagram Stories video of her daughter Lilibet wearing rainboots and a purple coat, standing with a pair of chickens. The world first saw 'Archie's Chick Inn' during the couple's 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where Winfrey noticed the sign reading 'Archie's Chick Inn—established 2021' for the coop housing hens rescued from a factory farm. 'I just love rescuing,' Meghan said at the time.
Return from Australia Trip
Meghan and Prince Harry, 41, recently returned to Montecito from a busy trip to Australia, where they completed four days of public and private engagements focusing on mental health, community resilience, and support for veterans and their families.
