Mike Vrabel, the head coach of the New England Patriots, is reportedly struggling amid allegations of an extramarital affair with NFL insider Dianna Russini. The rumors have sent shockwaves through the league, though neither party has publicly acknowledged them.
Insider Reports Emotional Toll
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated appeared on Boston's 98.5 The Sports Hub and shared insights into Vrabel's current state. Breer stated, 'I can just tell you factually, he has not been the same the last two weeks in that building.' He added, 'The sense I've gotten talking to people is the bravado and everything else, I think this has taken a chunk out of that.'
Breer, who has known Vrabel for years, expressed sympathy: 'I really like Mike personally, I've known him a long time. I've covered him as a player... I think deep down he's a good guy with a good heart who's done a lot of good things for the people and wants to do good things for people and is done right by a lot of people.'
Fan Outrage Over Alleged Betrayal
Despite Breer's plea for empathy, many fans have reacted with anger. One fan wrote, 'He was cheating on his wife while she was undergoing cancer treatment; he is a horrible human being.' Another commented, 'Good. After allegedly betraying his wife for six years and being exposed, he is no longer seen as the "good Catholic man."'
A third fan posted, 'So his demeanor is different now compared to the last six years when he allegedly carried on an extramarital affair; I'm sure his wife is very grateful for the change.' A fourth noted, 'Oh no! Not the consequences of his own actions! Dude hurt his own family. And he risked his dream job. He seemingly colluded with Russini to tamper with players, not just AJB the past two years, but others when he was a Titan, and should be fired or at the very least suspended.'
Silence and Counseling
Both Vrabel and his wife have remained silent as he reportedly takes time off for counseling. The situation continues to develop, with many calling for his dismissal.
