Grammy-winning singer and actress Miley Cyrus has officially entered a new chapter, moving from buying her own flowers to wearing a magnificent engagement ring gifted by her long-term boyfriend, musician Maxx Morando. The couple, who have been dating since late 2021, made their red carpet debut as an engaged pair at the Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, December 1.

While the couple has not made a formal public announcement, a source confirmed their engagement to PEOPLE magazine on December 2. The confirmation came after Cyrus was photographed at the premiere event wearing a distinctive, chunky gold ring. During their appearance, the 33-year-old star, dressed in a black strapless Gucci gown, posed affectionately with her 27-year-old fiancé, her hand resting on his chest, letting the new bling speak for itself.
The ring was quickly identified as a custom creation by renowned jewellery designer Jacquie Aiche. Francesca Simons of Francesca Simons Consulting, representing Aiche, provided the specifics. The bespoke piece features a modified cushion-cut diamond set in an east-west direction on a substantial 14-karat yellow gold band. The design is noted for its modern, minimalist aesthetic, a trending style in contemporary bridal jewellery.
Expert Appraisals: A Wide Range of Estimates
The unique ring instantly sparked curiosity about its worth, with top jewellery experts offering a spectrum of valuations based on the visible characteristics.
Daniela Tarantino, Vice President of Merchandising at Blue Nile, provided the highest estimate. She believes the 4 to 5 carat diamond ring could be valued between $300,000 and $450,000. She highlighted the chic, modern trend of the east-west bezel setting.
However, other appraisals were more conservative. Reyne Hirsch, a brand ambassador for Worthy and a former Antiques Roadshow appraiser, placed the retail value in the range of $150,000 to $250,000.
The most significant variable, as pointed out by Kristy Cullinane of Plum Diamonds, is the diamond's origin. The value fluctuates dramatically depending on whether the stone is mined or lab-grown. Cullinane estimated that a lab-grown diamond of 4-5 carats could cost around $15,000, while a mined diamond of similar size and quality could exceed $200,000.
