Nagpur: Ad hoc district and sessions judge Shilpa Bais convicted Mohammad Ashfaque (49) in a case of molestation registered at Police Station Sadar. The court sentenced the accused to rigorous imprisonment of five years and a fine of Rs 500 under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). In default of payment of the fine, the accused will undergo an additional simple imprisonment of one month.
Additional Sentences and Fines
The court also imposed two additional sentences: three years of rigorous imprisonment and two years of rigorous imprisonment, each accompanied by a fine of Rs 500. These sentences are to run concurrently. The fines, if recovered, will be paid to the victim as compensation.

The incident occurred on May 19, 2025, when the accused allegedly molested the complainant and her younger sister. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Sadar Police Station, and the accused was arrested the same day.
