As Mangal Lakshmi prepares to bid farewell to viewers, actor Naman Shaw is ready to embrace a new chapter in his career. The show will wrap up its shoot on June 20, with the final episode scheduled to air on June 26. For Naman, who has played the character Adit for over two and a half years, the end of the show marks both an emotional goodbye and an opportunity to explore something different.
Desire for a Change
Honestly, after doing a daily soap continuously for the last two and a half years, I feel it is time for a change, Naman says. If you ask me what I would like to do next, I would genuinely love to be part of a reality show.
Reality TV Roots
Reality television holds a special place in the actor’s journey. Before becoming a familiar face in daily soaps, Naman first gained recognition through reality-based formats. Back in 2007 and 2008, I participated in several reality shows that were very successful for me. I was the runner-up on Nach Baliye, won Ticket to Bollywood, and was part of other reality projects. In fact, my journey in the entertainment industry began with Cine Star Ki Khoj, he shares.
Showing the Real Self
Having spent years portraying Adit, Naman now hopes viewers will get to know the person behind the character. Audiences have connected with me through Adit, but I would love the chance to show them the real Naman Shaw—my personality, my sense of humour, and who I am beyond the roles I play, he says.
Mutual Decision to End
Confirming the show's conclusion, Naman reveals that the decision was made jointly by the channel and production house. A lot of people are upset, and honestly, so are we. But we know our show has been successful. Even now, we are among the top shows on the channel. It was a mutual decision, and we respect it, he says.
Gratitude and New Beginnings
Looking back on the journey with gratitude, Naman adds, I am incredibly thankful to the channel and production house for trusting me with Adit. He was a flawed character, but he was loved. I could not have asked for a better comeback on television. Now, it is time for a new journey.
