The couple, who found each other through an arranged match, are embarking on a beautiful journey together.
The Announcement and Traditional Ceremonies
In an exclusive conversation with Mirror, Navika Kotia revealed the happy news. She confirmed that their Roka or engagement ceremony is scheduled for January 2026. The couple has already taken their first formal step with a traditional function.
We recently had our Gud Dhana ceremony, which is a baat pakki ritual that Jains follow, the actress shared. This significant event, which solidifies the marriage agreement, was held at Mazen's family home in Pune. Navika described it as a personal and low-key affair, planned at the very last minute just a fortnight prior. It was an intimate gathering attended only by their immediate parents, making it a cute and wholesome celebration.
A Whirlwind Arranged Romance
Navika opened up about the unique nature of their relationship, describing it as an arranged marriage that blossomed from an existing friendship. The couple had been friends for approximately a year after being introduced by a mutual connection.
The turning point came around Diwali this year when Mazen's mother called Navika's mother to formally propose the marriage. I always wanted to go for an arranged marriage, so I was glad, though I didn't expect it to happen so soon, Navika expressed. Things moved very quickly, but I'm truly grateful to have found this blessing in my life.
She reflected on the emotional process, admitting to initial doubts. After Mazen's mom called my mom, I did have my doubts and speculations, but after taking some time, I finally said yes, because everything just felt right. It still hasn't completely sunk in, as it all happened rather quickly and can be overwhelming at times.
Future Plans and Philosophical Reflections
Looking ahead, the couple is taking their time to plan the main wedding. We haven't decided when we want to get married yet, maybe a year or two later, Navika stated, indicating a relaxed approach to their nuptials after the engagement.
The actress shared a profound belief that emerged from her experience. Finding the right partner is definitely difficult, but through this experience, I've come to truly believe that matches are made in heaven. It's beautiful how everything just fell into place and how the universe brought our families together.
