Nina Lin Sparks Outrage Over $4 Scissors Arrest Claim

Controversial streamer Nina Lin is once again at the center of online drama after claiming she spent a night in jail over a pair of scissors worth $4 that she did not scan. The Twitch personality shared the story during a livestream on May 20, immediately sparking outrage across social media platforms.

Nina Lin Shopping Controversy Explodes After Livestream Confession

While speaking to viewers, Nina described the moment store staff allegedly stopped her after checkout. According to the streamer, security reviewed footage and claimed she failed to scan one item while using the self-checkout kiosk.

“They immediately checked my receipt, and he was like, 'You missed one. We have a video.' I’m like, what? They show me the alleged video they’re talking about. You know when you’re checking out, and you turn everything around so the barcode scans, and you’re laying everything out because you’re in a rush?”

Nina claimed the forgotten item was a cheap pair of scissors. She explained that she was trying to move quickly while scanning products and did not realize one barcode had been missed. “I’m trying to get out of there. I’m using the little red barcode scanner thing. But apparently I missed one... I have never been that stunned in my life. I was like, 'Are you serious? Are you sure?' I’m telling the officer: 'You see what I’m seeing, right?' And he goes: 'It was an honest mistake… but the guy wants you at the precinct.'”

The streamer expressed frustration that she was not simply asked to pay for the item before police became involved. “Because if you knew it was an honest mistake, you could’ve just stopped me on the way out and said: 'Hey man, you forgot this item, can you scan it?' That would’ve been it. I would’ve bought every pair of scissors on the shelf out of spite. No joke. I would’ve taken every single pair of scissors off the shelf and bought all of them. I’d be stocked up on scissors for the next 20,000 years.”

Nina Lin Blames Critics and Internet Personalities for Targeting Her

As the story spread online, Nina suggested the shopkeeper may have recognized her from internet controversies involving Adin Ross and Asmongold. “The guy had it out for me. I don't know what it is... Maybe he watches Adin Ross.” She later added: “Maybe he watches Assama-gold... Assama... He's damn near a terrorist, that guy. Whatever that old white guy is.”

Meanwhile, legal commentator Andre Esquire questioned whether the situation was truly accidental. “Nina Lin literally has a history of shoplifting under the guise of 'failing to scan' - happening one time might be legitimate, but this is now a pattern of behavior that is caught in 4k on her livestreams.”

The latest controversy has once again divided viewers, with some defending Nina’s explanation while others believe the repeated incidents are becoming harder to ignore.
