Pallavi Chaterjee on Solitude: Embracing Solo Experiences

Pallavi Chaterjee, who will next be seen in The Revolutionaries, opened up about solitude, independence, and embracing solo experiences. Sharing her thoughts on people increasingly doing things alone, she said, “Honestly, it’s actually a great thing for people who can do it as one is independent and free to do what they want. But unfortunately, I am not that person. I always need someone for movies or dining out, but travelling and shopping are the only things I like doing alone.”

Single Motherhood and Solo Living

The actress, who has been a single mother for years, added, “I have done lots of things alone. I loved every moment. I have never had the fear of being judged ever since I was a child.” Talking about society becoming more accepting of solo experiences, Pallavi said, “Yes. I feel especially girls don’t want to put up with a lot of nonsense which sometimes comes as a package called marriage.”

Loneliness Versus Solitude

She also reflected on the difference between loneliness and solitude. “When you are in a crowd or a party and suddenly feel lonely, that’s loneliness. But when you are alone and at peace, enjoying your own company, that’s solitude. I absolutely need my ‘me’ time and to be with myself,” she shared.
