On June 5, his management agency released an official statement on their website, confirming the actor's death. The statement read: 'It is with great sadness that we can confirm Patrick Godfrey passed away last night. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.' They added, 'Paddy was an exceptionally talented actor and a remarkable individual, and we will miss him greatly.' No further details about his passing were disclosed to the public.

Patrick Lindesay Archibald Godfrey was born on February 13, 1933, in Finsbury, London, England, to Rev. Frederick Godfrey and Lois Mary Gladys. He began his career in the entertainment industry in 1956 when he joined the Radio Drama Company. Years later, he made his television debut in a minor role on 'Mary Barton'. This was followed by a short stint on 'Doctor Who', where he appeared in four episodes. His film debut came in the 1980s with 'The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby'. Over his extensive career, Godfrey worked on major hits, including 'Ever After', 'Ever After: A Cinderella Story', 'Les Misérables', 'Mr Turner', 'The Count of Monte Cristo', 'The Gambler', 'The Remains of the Day', and many others. His final acting role was in the television series 'His Dark Materials', where he played a butler. In film, his last appearance was in 2018's 'Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle', where he voiced the Elder Wolf. Godfrey is survived by his partner, fellow actress Amanda Walker, and their two children, Kate Godfrey and Richard Godfrey.
