Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster, a renowned TV host, model, and photographer, have been together for approximately 26 years, and their bond continues to strengthen. In a recent interview, the 55-year-old Lancaster discussed her life as a married woman and her enduring relationship with rock legend Stewart.
Penny Lancaster on 26 Years with Rod Stewart
The beloved couple has been married since 2007, though they have been together much longer. Speaking to Best Magazine, Lancaster reflected on their 18-year marriage with humor. "Yes, 26 years! I deserve a medal, don't I? Only joking," she quipped.
She revealed that one key to their longevity is intentionality. The photographer explained that they maintain routines and regularly go on dates to keep things exciting. "We don't take each other for granted and make sure we have date nights together … dinner, the theatre or whatever, doing the school run together and having an 'a deux' coffee on the way home, long romantic walks together," she shared. Flirting and making each other laugh are also vital components of their relationship.
Celebrating Anniversaries and Milestones
Another factor contributing to their lasting union is their commitment to celebrating each other's achievements. The 'Loose Women' star emphasized that they always make a big deal out of their anniversaries. "For instance, for our last wedding anniversary, we took a very romantic train trip from Paris to Portofino because Rod proposed to me in Paris and we got married in Portofino. We love reminiscing about our life together and also making plans for the future — more romantic trips," she said.
Lancaster and Stewart have been together since 1999 and married in 2007. They have two children, Alastair Wallace and Aiden Patrick, while Lancaster also has six other children from previous relationships.
