Recently, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams spoke to GB News about the royal couple's marriage on their 8th anniversary. He discussed how the two met at the perfect time in their lives and were working well together. However, after stepping back from their royal roles, many things went awry for them.
Fitzwilliams added, "The fact that they changed direction in such a destructive way after they stepped down is something to be greatly regretted. But as far as I know, [their marriage] is very close, and of course they have two children." Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first son, Prince Archie, on May 6, 2019, and their daughter, Princess Lilibet, on June 4, 2021. Fitzwilliams further commented, "They are heading in different directions, but that's a different issue."
Another royal commentator, Rafe Heydel-Mankoo, also recently discussed the couple's marriage on The People's Channel. He noted, "The marriage has been a huge success for Meghan in terms of her profile, business career, wealth, and status." In contrast, he stated that for Prince Harry, it has been the polar opposite. Two years after their wedding, the couple left their royal duties and relocated to Montecito, California. This shift, according to the report, has left Prince Harry unable to "perform any meaningful role."
