Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games, shared a rare video message during the opening ceremony of the event in Düsseldorf, Germany, on June 13. The message was delivered almost simultaneously with the royal family's Trooping the Colour ceremony in London, highlighting a division of the royal family across two continents on the same significant day.
Prince Harry's Invictus Games Message
Appearing via video at the ceremony, Harry spoke about the importance of the Invictus Games and praised the participants. 'Thank you for your service,' he said, according to Invictus Germany's Instagram Stories. He added, 'Have a fantastic time in Düsseldorf—lean on those when you need to and celebrate everything you have achieved, and most importantly, have fun.' His message emphasized community, support, and pride in achievements, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the event and military personnel.
Trooping the Colour Without Harry
On the same morning, Trooping the Colour took place in London, with Prince William riding on horseback and Kate Middleton alongside their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, in a carriage. The ceremony celebrates the monarch's official birthday and is a key date on the royal calendar. Harry and Meghan did not attend, marking their fourth consecutive year of absence since stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Their last appearance at the event was in 2022, where they skipped the balcony portion.
Prince Harry's Planned UK Trip
Harry is reportedly planning a rare trip to the UK for the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year. Initially, sources indicated he hoped to bring Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, but People later confirmed he would travel alone due to security concerns, making it a solo visit.
