The home spans the 14th, 15th, and 16th floors of a building in the Juhu-Vile Parle Development Scheme. The same source reported that Janhvi Kapoor had bought the property in 2020 for Rs 39 crore. Rao paid Rs 2.19 crore in stamp duty for the deal, which includes six parking spaces. The transaction was finalized on March 31, 2022, and officially registered on July 21, 2022.

In an interview cited by Mashable India, Rao recalled advice from Shah Rukh Khan that stayed with him when he decided to buy a home beyond his comfort zone. Shah Rukh told him, 'Whenever you buy a house, purchase it a little beyond your means. That way, you will work harder because you would want to earn it.'
