Ram Charan continues to dominate headlines due to ongoing discussions surrounding his latest film, 'Peddi'. While conversations about the movie persist, one of the actor's earlier interviews has resurfaced online, drawing renewed attention.
Ram Charan's Stance on International Projects
Over the years, Ram Charan has built a formidable presence across Indian cinema and gained recognition among global audiences. A 2024 interview has now resurfaced, where he shared his thoughts on international projects and explained why Indian stories hold greater significance for him. The actor spoke on this topic while attending the Film Tourism for Economic and Cultural Preservation event in Jammu and Kashmir.
Emphasis on Indian Culture
During the interaction, Ram Charan was asked whether audiences could expect him to explore Hollywood opportunities. In response, he clarified that his immediate focus remains on stories rooted in India and its culture. As quoted by Pinkvilla, he said: “I want to explore India more, and I don't think I would want to travel anywhere else for my films unless the producer or director is from Hollywood. I want to stick to my culture. I want to educate that our Indian sentiments are so strong. Our culture is so strong. There's a lot of dignity in our stories. Nowadays, when you see it, it's not a South Indian or North Indian movie; it's about Indian mitti ka (soil's) stories. These stories are finally coming out.”
Hollywood Not Completely Ruled Out
Although Ram Charan emphasized his attachment to Indian storytelling, he has also spoken positively about international opportunities in earlier conversations. During a previous interaction with Sam Fragaso, the actor revealed that discussions regarding a Hollywood project were underway. He also addressed the topic in another interview with David Poland, admitting that working internationally remains an exciting possibility. He said: “Who doesn’t want to be a Hollywood actor?” These comments suggest that while Indian cinema remains his priority, he is open to exploring global opportunities.

During the same conversation, Ram Charan mentioned several international stars he admires. He expressed a desire to collaborate with actors such as Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, and Brad Pitt in future projects.
