In a 2013 interview with Masala, Ram Charan shared insights into his wife's feelings. He stated, “I think she (Upasana) gets jealous when she sees the way I connect with my mother. As far as intimate scenes are concerned, I guess I shouldn’t lie about it. Yes, she was not comfortable with it initially. It’s understandable, she comes from a very different background, so it was hard for her to accept me doing these scenes. Frankly, I wasn’t sure she would understand, but to my surprise, she did! She’s very mature, and I love how she has blended into my family.”
Charan explained that it took time for Upasana to understand the film industry. He gradually helped her become familiar with how film sets function, which eased her discomfort.
