Rashmika Mandanna to Play Tribal Goddess in Mysaa

Rashmika Mandanna is stepping into uncharted territory for her upcoming film, Mysaa. Playing a Gond woman in a story inspired by true incidents, the actress is pushing her physical and emotional limits to embody the character, says director Rawindra Pulle.

Intense Role Inspired by Real-Life Incidents

Rashmika’s character Mysaa is named after a tribal goddess. It is a very intense role. She carries a lot of anger and rage within her and is the hero of this story, Pulle explains. The film is inspired by real-life incidents and aims to authentically portray tribal communities. We want to highlight their struggles and give voice to their experiences.

Rigorous Training for Authentic Action

To prepare Rashmika for the role, the makers brought in renowned stunt choreographer Kecha Khamphakdee, known for his work in Troy, 300, and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Kecha and I are experimenting by blending Indian martial arts with tribal fighting techniques to create a completely new action style for the film. We shot in Bangkok for nearly seven days, where Rashmika trained for 7–8 hours every day, he adds.
