Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon recently opened up about generational differences and changing lifestyles in an interview with Times Entertainment. Reflecting on her relationship with her children, she explained why she does not feel a significant disconnect between her generation and today’s younger generation.
Close Bond with Children Bridges Generational Gap
The actress shared that her close relationship with her children has helped her understand younger perspectives and evolving interests. She said, "About our generation? What do they get wrong? I don't know. Actually, it's a little different or difficult for me to comprehend what others think. Because between the relationship between me, Rasha and Ranbir, my kids, and then my two older kids who are not Gen Z but an older generation, we are friends, right?"
Raveena emphasized that the family shares many common interests and lifestyles, which keeps their bond strong despite age differences. "So I've not felt that distance or that difference. We do everything together. Our likes and dislikes are almost the same," she added.
Shared Passions: Wildlife, Animals, and Nature
The actress further revealed that wildlife, animals, and nature remain some of the biggest common passions within the family. "Our passions are the same. We all love wildlife. We all love going for safaris. We all love animals. We all can have like about 100 dogs in our house and no humans. We're very happy with that," Raveena said. According to her, these shared interests have helped maintain a natural emotional connection between different generations inside the family. "So we bond like that. So I don't see... Unless, yeah, it's technology. I definitely ask for technology help from my son and my daughter both, yes," she added with humor.
Reflections on 90s Fashion and Modern Technology
During the interaction, Raveena was asked about one thing from the 1990s that she feels may not survive in today’s generation. She responded humorously while recalling a popular style trend: "Uh... Bombed hair? God, it was uncontrollably wild."
The actress also reflected on modern technology and admitted that one aspect of today’s digital culture deeply concerns her. While acknowledging the usefulness of smartphones, Raveena criticized the growing culture of constant recording and camera usage in public spaces. "I don't know. What I wish would not be there instead is these camera phones. The smartphones, great. But those cameras that everyone has, is really an invasion of privacy," she said. She stressed that the issue affects not only celebrities but ordinary people as well. "And not only for celebrities, I think for anyone or everyone. That I think is not correct," she added.
Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Raveena will next be seen in Welcome To The Jungle, which has already generated strong excitement among fans.
