Veteran actor Raveena Tandon recently shared heartfelt advice she would give her younger self if given the chance to travel back in time. In a candid conversation with Times Entertainment, the actress reflected on trust, emotional maturity, and the rapidly changing pace of life.
Advice to Her 16-Year-Old Self
When asked what wisdom she would impart to 16-year-old Raveena, the actor offered a thoughtful response about learning to slow down and not believing everything immediately. She said, "Yeah that everybody is not what they are seeming to be. So just sit back and don't go with everything that is being told to you. Just take it easy. And do the penguin wave and smile. A little bit of that."
Reflections on a Fast-Paced Life
During the same interaction, Raveena spoke about how rapidly life moves today and how difficult it has become for people to fully absorb experiences before moving on to the next thing. She remarked, "And if we, you know, had the same conversation five or 10 years down, what do you think would be the biggest revelation for you down the line? What is something you're really looking forward to? You're obviously doing so many different things. You know, I feel like you're, like I said, you're super not done yet. But what is the next? In today's day and age is so fast that I don't think one does even comprehend or let things absorb before you've already moved on to the other one." The actress explained that modern lifestyles often leave very little space for emotional processing or reflection.
Dream of an Animal Rescue Centre
Raveena also revealed her long-term personal dream during the conversation. The actress expressed her hope to eventually settle down on a farm and focus on animal welfare activities. She shared, "I think things are too fast these days. But yeah, hopefully 10 years down the line, I'm looking to settle down on my farm. Nice. Be where I'm developing my rescue centre for animals. Which sadly, none of the laws of our country are supporting us at the moment. It's really sad to see this, you know, state of our strays, where in fact, if you go to see in our Sanatan Dharm, it is dogs and every animal and every, that's why Lord Shiva was called Pashupatinath."
The actor strongly spoke about compassion towards animals and linked it to Indian cultural values and traditions. She emphasized that worshipping all living beings is a core part of the heritage.
Concern Over Stray Animal Situation
Continuing her thoughts on animal welfare, Raveena expressed disappointment over the condition of stray animals in the country. She stated that poor implementation of laws has worsened the situation over the years. "Because we worshipped every living thing. We were taught to respect and worship every living thing. You know, and it's surprising that in our country, that we are seeing the state of our strays today," she said. She further added, "It's really sad because it's not even their fault. It's completely lack of implementation of our laws, of our ABC laws that were there for the animals. If they had been implemented well, and if administrators had done their job, we wouldn't have reached this situation."
