Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty has revealed that the arrest of Aryan Khan, son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, in the 2021 drugs case brought back memories of her own legal ordeal. In a recent interview, she opened up about the emotional turmoil she experienced during that period.
Emotional Flashback
Rhea stated that when she heard about Aryan Khan's arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in October 2021, it immediately reminded her of the time she spent in jail and the media scrutiny she faced after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020. "It was like reliving my own nightmare," she said.
Legal Battle and Public Scrutiny
The actress was arrested in September 2020 in connection with a drugs case linked to Sushant's death. She spent 27 days in jail before being granted bail by the Bombay High Court. Rhea recalled the intense media coverage and public judgment she endured. "Everyone was quick to judge without knowing the facts," she added.
Support for Aryan
Rhea expressed sympathy for Aryan Khan and his family, emphasizing that no one should have to go through such an experience. "I could feel his pain and the helplessness of his family," she said. She also criticized the way the case was handled by the authorities and the media.
Current Status
Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB on October 2, 2021, during a cruise ship drug bust. He spent 22 days in jail before being granted bail on October 28. The case is still ongoing. Meanwhile, Rhea has been focusing on her career and personal life, recently appearing in the film Chehre and working on new projects.
Rhea's candid remarks have sparked discussions about the treatment of celebrities in legal cases and the impact of media trial. She hopes that her story can serve as a lesson for others facing similar situations.
