Jharsuguda: The body of a 35-year-old woman was discovered near the weekly (Friday) market area, close to the Old Bus Stand, under the Government Railway Police (GRP) limits in Jharsuguda on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Basanti Majhi, a resident of Jharsuguda who was employed at a local hotel.
Investigation Underway
GRP personnel promptly arrived at the scene, seized the body, and sent it to a nearby hospital for a post-mortem examination. Reshma Ekka, the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of GRP Jharsuguda, stated that the exact cause of death will only be determined once the post-mortem report is received. No arrest has been made so far, and the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
