Actor Rushal Parakh, known for his roles in television dramas such as Bekaboo, Parineetii, Tu Aashiqui, and Kavach... Kaali Shaktiyon Se, has always had a multifaceted career. From captivating performances on screen to quiet jam sessions at home, he has worn many hats. However, it is singing that he describes as his “truth”. In a recent conversation, the actor opened up about his deep connection with music and his evolving journey in acting.
The Birth of a Rockstar
Reflecting on the release date of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Rockstar on November 11, 2011, Rushal shared, “11.11.11 wasn’t just a release date; it was my rebirth. That film lit a fire I didn’t know I had, and the rockstar inside me woke up that day. Since then, singing became my release, my therapy, my truth. I don’t chase stages. I sing for the soul whenever it calls.” This profound experience marked a turning point in his life, making music an integral part of his being.
Music as a Personal Refuge
Despite his immense passion for music, Rushal has no intentions of pursuing it professionally. He explained, “Honestly, no. I never sang to build a career out of it. It’s personal, raw and meant for moments, not spotlights. I sing for myself when words fall short, and sometimes for the people closest to me. Keeping it intimate keeps it real, and that’s how I love it.” For him, music remains a sacred, private space that he cherishes without the pressures of the industry.
An Unexpected Acting Career
Interestingly, acting was not part of a larger plan for Rushal either. His entry into showbiz happened unexpectedly, and a brief appearance changed the course of his career. He recalled, “It wasn’t planned; it found me. One small cameo in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya changed everything. Watching myself on screen, something clicked. I saw potential, fire, a storyteller waiting to break out. That moment told me I can do this, and I can do it professionally.” This serendipitous start set him on a path of creative fulfillment.
Evolving Focus: Web and Films
While he has been away from daily soaps lately, Rushal emphasized that he remains fully invested in acting. He shared, “I’m still very much active, just not where you’d expect. TV took a backseat while I shifted focus to web and films. It’s been quiet, not absent. I chose to grow, wait for the right scripts and challenge myself in new spaces. The hustle never stopped; it evolved.” By exploring newer formats, he continues to push his boundaries and evolve as an artist.
Balancing Both Worlds
Having featured in episodic shows and television projects over the years, Rushal is currently balancing both worlds. He lets music remain a personal refuge while continuing to pursue acting with renewed focus. This delicate equilibrium allows him to stay true to his passions without compromising on either. As he navigates his career, his dedication to authenticity remains unwavering.
