Samantha Busch Shares Promise to Late Kyle Busch

Samantha Busch has opened up about one of the hardest moments of her life. In an emotional Instagram post shared on June 10, Kyle Busch’s wife revealed the promise she made to the late NASCAR star before he died. Samantha said she told Kyle that she would do everything she could to help their children follow their dreams, no matter where those dreams lead them. The post came as their son, Brexton Busch, returned to the racetrack just weeks after losing his father. Samantha shared that watching Brexton race brings mixed emotions because she often sees parts of Kyle in him. She said those moments are painful, but they also remind her that Kyle’s legacy lives on through their children. Kyle Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, died on May 21 at age 41 after being hospitalized with a severe illness.

Samantha Busch Shares Promise Made to Kyle Busch Before His Death

In her post, Samantha Busch spoke honestly about the emotions she feels when watching Brexton Busch race. “Watching Brexton back at the track is both heartbreaking and beautiful all at once because there are moments when I catch a glimpse of Kyle in him, the same determination, the same passion, the same spark, and for a second it feels like a piece of him is still right here with us.” She then revealed the promise she made while Kyle was in the hospital. “I’d do everything I could to help our children pursue their dreams no matter what.”

Samantha explained that racing was not something Kyle Busch pushed onto his son. Instead, it became a passion they naturally shared through years of talking about race cars, working together, and dreaming together.

Brexton Busch Carries Kyle Busch’s Racing Legacy Forward

Less than two weeks after Kyle Busch’s death, Brexton Busch was back behind the wheel at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 11-year-old took part in preparations for the Cook Out Summer Shootout, continuing the journey he and his father loved so much. Samantha also shared that daughter Lennix Busch recently received her first kart for her fourth birthday. While she wishes Kyle could be there with the children, she said the family will continue supporting their dreams.

The racetrack remains a special place for them because it holds two decades of memories. Samantha said every visit reminds them of the person they lost, but it is also where they feel closest to him. As she ended her message, she summed up the family’s path forward in a few simple words: “So, we race on.”
