Seth Rogen and James Franco will not be seen on the big screen together anytime soon. In a recent interview, Rogen addressed the matter and revealed that he does not wish to work with Franco, years after the sexual misconduct case filed against the actor five years ago.

While in conversation with The New York Times, Rogen disclosed that although he and Franco have collaborated in the past, it is not something he ever wishes to do again anytime soon. The actor did not want to share too many details about the sensitive topic but did offer some insight. He said, “I honestly think the nuance of it is too personal for me to get into right now. It is a very personal thing.”

He added that his viewpoint on everything related to the matter remains unchanged. “There’s the public-facing side of it, which I’ve spoken about, and I have the same stance publicly that I’ve had, and I think the proof is in the pudding — I have not worked with him in years. But the personal side of it is just so nuanced, and it involves people that I don’t know if I should be dragging into this,” he further commented. Rogen concluded his statement by revealing that the two have not been in contact for the past couple of years. He stated, “I haven’t worked with him in a really long time and I have no plans to. I haven’t talked to him in a long time.”

About James Franco and Seth Rogen’s Friendship

The duo used to actively work together on various projects and were even close friends for a very long time. Both started their careers with ‘Freaks and Geeks’, which further solidified their long-running bond. Over the years, they continued to collaborate on projects including ‘Pineapple Express’, ‘This Is the End’, and ‘Sausage Party’. They last worked together in 2017 on the film ‘The Disaster Artist.’ In 2018, after Franco wore a ‘MeToo’ pin to an award show, it prompted around five women to come forward and accuse him of sexual misconduct. The two have not worked together since. In 2021, when the case was settled, Rogen expressed that he did not wish to work with Franco again.

James Franco wore a ‘MeToo’ pin in solidarity with the movement in Hollywood at the Golden Globe 2018 ceremony. This was followed by five women coming forward and accusing him of sexual misconduct. Two of these women were his former students from his defunct acting school and accused him of acting inappropriately, as per the lawsuit they filed. The case was settled in 2021.
