The controversy began when the trio sat down for promotions in Pune, with the local delicacy Vada Pao placed before them. Initially, they posed with the food in their hands, playfully holding the chili, but when it came time to take a bite, they showed reluctance. Kriti was heard saying she couldn't take a big bite in front of the cameras as it would be messy, while Shahid showed no interest in eating at all. Later, at the persistent request of the paparazzi, the three finally took a bite. However, there was a catch. While Kriti and Rashmika took tiny bites, Shahid pretended to eat. He faked a bite and even appeared to chew, but Kriti, in a playful gesture, showed the camera that the Vada Pao was untouched.
Reacting to the video, netizens highlighted the hypocrisy of the stars. They noted that the actors have no problem promoting unhealthy food or sugary drinks but draw a line when it comes to their own health.
