Shiva Rajkumar, the veteran Kannada actor, had to travel to the United States after being diagnosed with cancer, a difficult phase in his life. Ahead of the release of Ram Charan's upcoming film 'Peddi', the actor revealed how his health issues made him consider stepping away from the project.

Shiva Rajkumar's health struggle and decision to quit

Shiva Rajkumar shared that given his health situation, he felt it would be difficult to commit to the film due to its demanding schedule, as 'Peddi' is a large-scale entertainer. This led him to think about backing out. However, the makers of 'Peddi' insisted on his presence in the film.

He revealed that director Buchi Babu Sana said they were willing to wait for him to fully recover. The 'Jailer' actor expressed his gratitude to the team for being generous and said that working on the film made it more special.

In addition to this, Shiva Rajkumar also talked about the script of the film, praising its writing and storytelling. He mentioned that he was immediately drawn to the film during his first narration by Buchi Babu Sana. He described how the story presents human emotions and life experiences in a natural and relatable manner. He was so fascinated with the story that he also spoke with Ram Charan on the same day.

Shiva Rajkumar's role as Gournaidu

In the film, Shiva Rajkumar will be seen as Gournaidu. His first look poster shows him in a light-shaded shirt and white pants. He has multiple rings on his hands and a thick moustache, which seems to portray a man who looks like the chief of his group and has a solid command.

Cast and release of 'Peddi'

'Peddi' also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Ravi Kishan, and Boman Irani. The music is composed by AR Rahman. It is set to release on June 4.
