The alleged relationship rumours between actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan have become one of South India's most talked-about controversies in recent weeks. Now, a prominent voice has entered the debate. Singer Suchitra Ramadurai has broken her silence with straightforward remarks, pulling no punches about her feelings towards both individuals.
Singer Suchitra says she does not like Trisha Krishnan
Singer Suchitra made her position on the Vijay and Trisha Krishnan row crystal clear in a recent interview with Firstpost. She stated, 'I do not like Trisha at all. I will say this objectively and will not let it colour my judgement. I like Vijay very much. I will give my opinion honestly without taking sides.'
The singer went further, offering a pointed warning about those she believes may be taking advantage of Vijay's current personal isolation. She added, 'Parasites tend to enter the lives of successful people when they become isolated. Vijay has isolated himself by distancing himself from his parents and wife. He is alone but has done no soul-searching till now.'
She continued, 'Amidst this, he has come into politics. To be honest, he needs his father, Chandrashekhar, who may steer him through political waters. Otherwise, he will achieve nothing in politics. If any good things can happen to him in politics, they should be supported by his father.'
When Trisha Krishnan chose films over her fiancé
This is not the first time Trisha Krishnan has found herself at the centre of a relationship story. A decade ago, she famously called off her engagement to Chennai-based businessman Varun Manian. She later addressed the breakup directly, tweeting, 'Amused by the thousand speculations doing the rounds. Let it rest, people. Happy, single and thankful.'
In a subsequent interview, Trisha made her priorities unmistakably clear: 'The person I was supposed to marry asked me to stop acting. Instead of films, I chose to put a full stop to my engagement. I will only take a break when I get pregnant. If I am not offered lead roles, I will do characters that suit my image, but I will not move away from the film industry. My wish is to act until my last breath.'
More about Vijay
Vijay took an oath as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, 2026. His last film, 'Jana Nayagan', is yet to arrive in cinemas. The release was delayed due to issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
