Smriti Mandhana's Wedding Postponed: Groom Wanted to Cancel First
Smriti Mandhana Wedding Postponed: Health Crisis Details

The highly anticipated wedding between Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been indefinitely postponed following unexpected health emergencies in the family, with new revelations emerging about the groom's emotional response to the situation.

Groom's Emotional Decision Revealed

In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Amita Muchhal, mother of the groom, revealed that her son Palash wanted to call off the wedding even before Smriti Mandhana made her decision. The wedding was scheduled for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, but never took place due to the health crises.

"Palash is emotionally attached to his 'uncle' a lot. In fact, they are closer than Palash and Smriti," Amita Muchhal disclosed, referring to Smriti's father Shrinivas Mandhana. "So when he fell ill, Palash decided, even before Smriti did, that the wedding should not take place until he fully recovers."

Dual Health Emergencies Strike

The health crisis began on the morning of the wedding ceremony when Smriti's father experienced heart-attack-like symptoms during breakfast and was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital. The situation worsened when, a day later on November 24, Palash himself required medical attention and was admitted to a hospital.

"Since Haldi was done, we didn't let him go outside. He cried so much that his health suddenly got worse," Amita shared about her son's condition. "He had to be kept in the hospital for 4 hours. They gave her an IV drip, did an ECG and other tests. All the reports came out normally, but the stress level is very high."

Family Response and Current Status

The family made the collective decision to postpone the wedding until both health situations improve. Smriti Mandhana, who is extremely close to her father, agreed with this decision and subsequently deleted all wedding-related posts from her Instagram account, including engagement and viral proposal videos.

"We have got Palash back to Mumbai now. He is feeling better and resting now. But stress is there," Amita updated. "His sister Palak has also left Sangli and is coming to be with him." Meanwhile, Smriti's father remains under medical observation, with doctors recommending continued hospital care.

Social Media Theories and Rumors

Since Smriti removed all wedding content from social media without explanation, various conspiracy theories have emerged online. Some social media users suggested it was due to 'Nazar' or evil eye, claiming that sharing wedding updates publicly brought bad luck.

Additionally, unverified rumors have circulated about Palash allegedly cheating on Smriti, with screenshots shared on Reddit and Instagram claiming to show private conversations with another woman. None of these allegations have been confirmed by either Smriti or Palash, and many of the posts have since been deleted.

The family's primary focus remains on the recovery of both patients, with the wedding plans on hold indefinitely until health conditions permit celebration.
