The inaugural Bengaluru Lake Run took place on Sunday, bringing together citizens, environmentalists, and fitness enthusiasts for a 10km run that connected Jakkur and Rachenahalli lakes in north Bengaluru. The event was organized under the supervision of Minister and Byatarayanapura MLA Krishna Byre Gowda as part of Environment Day celebrations.

Raising Awareness Through Fitness

The run aimed to raise awareness about lake conservation while encouraging physical fitness and community participation. Held amidst the scenic surroundings of the two lakes, which have become important public and ecological spaces in the city, organizers emphasized the initiative's goal to strengthen citizens' connection with Bengaluru's lakes and highlight the need to protect urban waterbodies.

Event Details and Participation

In addition to the 10km run, participants could join the 'Majaa Run,' which featured timed and untimed 3.5km runs, allowing people of different age groups and fitness levels to take part. The participants completed the routes with enthusiasm, endurance, and community spirit. According to organizers, close to 3,000 people attended the event, including the minister.
