Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Visits Kollur Mookambika Temple, Breaks Protocol
Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Visits Kollur Temple

Actor-turned-politician and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay arrived in Mangaluru on Friday afternoon before traveling to the revered Kollur Mookambika Temple in Udupi district. Landing at Mangaluru International Airport on a chartered flight from New Delhi around 1 pm, he was received under tight security before proceeding to Kollur by road. A section of the airport was cordoned off, and a strict no-photography protocol was enforced. However, he broke protocol and went to greet his fans who had gathered at the airport.

Traditional Welcome at Temple

At the temple, Vijay was accorded a traditional Purna Kumbha welcome. He first offered prayers at Stambha Ganapati before worshipping at the main shrine of Goddess Mookambika and later at the Veerabhadra shrine, according to temple authorities.

Historical Significance

The visit is notable as Vijay becomes another Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to offer prayers at the temple while in office, following former chief ministers and actors M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. This marks a continuation of a tradition among Tamil Nadu's political leaders.
