Over the years, Taylor Swift has collaborated with numerous artists across the music industry, including John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls. The two performed together in 2011 during Swift's 'Speak Now' tour. In a recent interview, Rzeznik reflected on his experience working with the pop icon.
John Rzeznik on Taylor Swift's Professionalism
Rzeznik sat down with PEOPLE at the American Music Awards this year to revisit memorable career moments. He recalled collaborating with Swift in 2011 when they sang together on her 'Speak Now' tour. At the time, Swift was only 21 years old.
Rzeznik noted, 'What impressed me, because at the time she was still very young, and I expected a bunch of handlers to come and deal with me because I was a guest, but she did. I just remember thinking, "This woman's got her s--- together."'
How 'Iris' Gained Popularity After Swift's Concert
Rzeznik explained that the Goo Goo Dolls' song 'Iris' was originally released for the film 'City of Angels'. Even after the film faded, the song remained popular. Years later, he and Swift performed a version of 'Iris' together on stage.
He shared, 'I think that it connected more after that. And then I got to sing with Taylor Swift, and then all these other people just started covering it.'
Potential Performance at Swift and Kelce's Wedding
During the interview, Rzeznik was asked if he would perform at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's upcoming wedding. He congratulated the couple and said he would love to do so if approached.
