Tiffany Trump, the younger daughter of US President Donald Trump, arrived in Jaisalmer, a world-renowned tourist destination, on Sunday aboard a private aircraft along with her husband, Michael Boulos. The couple received a traditional Rajasthani welcome upon their arrival at Jaisalmer Civil Airport.
Official Reception and Security Measures
Those present to receive them included US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, District Collector Anupama Jorwal, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare, and officials from the police, administration, and tourism departments. Following the welcome ceremony, the couple left the airport in a convoy of vehicles displaying American flags. Under tight security, the motorcade proceeded to Hotel Suryagarh.
Given the high-profile nature of the private visit and the state guest status accorded to the couple, extensive security arrangements have been put in place across the city. Special accommodation has been arranged for Tiffany Trump and her husband at the luxury Suryagarh Hotel, one of Jaisalmer's best-known heritage properties.
Expected Itinerary and Sightseeing
During their stay, Tiffany Trump is expected to visit several of Jaisalmer's iconic landmarks, including the famous Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila), Patwon Ki Haveli, and Gadisar Lake. The couple is expected to depart on Monday.
Heightened Security Across Jaisalmer
With the visit of the US President's daughter, the Jaisalmer district administration and local police have remained on high alert. Given Jaisalmer's proximity to the India-Pakistan border and the VIP movement involved, heightened security measures have been implemented at major tourist attractions and other key locations. Intelligence agencies are also closely monitoring the security arrangements.
Personnel from the police, special security forces, and other security agencies have been deployed at the airport and across the city. An Akash Air Defence System, operated by the Indian Army and Air Force, was reportedly deployed outside the airport as part of the security arrangements. High-security vehicles and bulletproof cars were also included in the convoy.
Officials from the US Secret Service are working alongside Indian security agencies to ensure the safety of the visiting dignitaries. Additional police personnel have been deployed at major tourist destinations, including Jaisalmer Fort, while security agencies remain on alert throughout the visit.
Traditional Rajasthani Welcome at Suryagarh
Upon arriving at Suryagarh Hotel, Tiffany Trump and Michael Boulos were welcomed by local folk artists dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire. The artists presented cultural performances, including the famous Ghoomar dance, accompanied by traditional musical instruments. Camels decorated in vibrant Rajasthani style were also part of the welcome ceremony. Adorned with colourful fabrics, embroidered ornaments, and traditional accessories, the camels became a major attraction for the visitors.
Luxury Stay at Suryagarh
The couple is staying in one of the most luxurious villas at Suryagarh Hotel. According to local sources, the villa is among the hotel's most expensive accommodations, with a reported tariff of around ₹2 lakh per day. It features three rooms and a private swimming pool, offering an exclusive and luxurious stay in Jaisalmer.
