Vanessa Trump made it clear that daughter Kai Trump came first on Tuesday, even as partner Tiger Woods faced another tense moment in court tied to his latest DUI case. The 48-year-old shared an emotional birthday message for Kai Trump, who turned 19, on Instagram Tuesday morning. But the timing quickly drew attention because it came on the same day Woods appeared in a Martin County courtroom in Florida, where prosecutors are trying to gain access to his prescription medication records following his March DUI arrest.
Vanessa Trump's post sounded loving and proud, but one line stood out more than the rest. "Today is all about celebrating you," she wrote, making it clear she was focused on her daughter despite the growing legal fight surrounding Woods.
Kai Trump, who recently graduated from high school, has become one of the most talked-about young members of the Trump family in recent months because of her rising public profile and golf connection with Woods.
Vanessa Trump wrote in her full message: "Happy Birthday to my firstborn, Kai. I am beyond proud of you and all that you have accomplished.
"Watching you graduate from high school and begin this new chapter into adulthood is one of the proudest moments of my life. You have worked so hard to get where you are today, and it truly shows.
"You have grown into such an amazing young woman, smart, strong, kind, and determined.
"From excelling in school to being an incredible role model for your siblings and everyone around you, you continue to inspire me every single day. I love you with all my heart, and today is all about celebrating you."
Tiger Woods fights release of prescription records in Florida DUI case
While Vanessa Trump celebrated her daughter's birthday, Tiger Woods was dealing with another major court development connected to his March crash near his Palm Beach-area home.
According to investigators, Woods crashed his Land Rover after clipping a truck trailer on a residential road on Jupiter Island where the speed limit was 30 mph. Authorities said the vehicle rolled onto its side and caused around $5,000 in damage.
Police later arrested Woods for DUI. A Breathalyzer test reportedly showed no alcohol in his system, but deputies said Woods refused to take a urine test. Officers also said they found two pain pills in his pocket during the arrest.
Now prosecutors want access to Woods' prescription records from a Palm Beach pharmacy covering the first three months of the year. They reportedly want to know whether Woods had been warned about driving while taking pain medication.
Defense attorney Doug Duncan argued in court filings that Woods has a constitutional right to privacy regarding his medical records. He also asked the judge to limit who could see the records if they are released.
This is not the first driving-related incident involving Woods. In 2017, he was arrested in Florida after police found him asleep in his car with several drugs in his system. In 2021, Woods suffered serious leg injuries in a California crash. He was also involved in a 2009 crash outside his Florida home during the fallout from his highly publicized cheating scandal.
