Vetri Maaran's 'Arasan' Salary Rumours After 'Vaadivaasal' Loss

The biggest discussion in Tamil cinema right now revolves around 'Arasan,' which brings together actor Silambarasan and director Vetri Maaran for the first time. Fans are excited because both have spent many years in the industry but are only now collaborating. The film is being produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. Concurrently, fresh reports about the shelved 'Vaadivaasal' project have started spreading in the film industry, once again bringing attention to the financial problems and delays surrounding that much-awaited film.

'Vaadivaasal' with Suriya Reportedly Stopped After a Huge Investment

'Vaadivaasal' was originally planned with Suriya in the lead role and Ameer in an important character. The movie created huge expectations among fans from the beginning. Test shoots were conducted, and advanced animatronics work for the bulls reportedly took place in London. However, despite all the preparations, the project did not move to the next stage. Many reasons were discussed in the industry for the delay and eventual stoppage of the film. According to Filmibeat, nearly Rs. 40 crore was invested, and with added interest over time, the amount is now said to have reached nearly Rs. 40 crore. So, Vetri Maaran reportedly hasn't taken any salary for 'Arasan' till now, and the director might take a share in the film's profit.

'Arasan' Became Vetri Maaran's Next Priority After 'Vaadivaasal' Was Delayed

Even after 'Vaadivaasal' was reportedly dropped, Vetri Maaran remained committed to making a film for Kalaipuli S. Thanu. He then revived another script titled 'Arasan,' which he had reportedly written back in 2003. Fans were surprised and excited when the collaboration between Silambarasan and Vetri Maaran was officially announced. Even the small glimpse video released from the movie received a strong response online. Music for the film is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and shooting has been taking place in Madurai and nearby regions in multiple schedules.
