Will Smith Sued by Violinist for Wrongful Termination After Reporting Sexual Assault
Violinist Sues Will Smith Over Firing After Assault Report

Hollywood superstar Will Smith finds himself embroiled in a serious legal controversy. A violinist who performed on his tour has filed a lawsuit, accusing the actor of firing him unlawfully after he reported a disturbing sexual assault incident.

The Allegations and the Lawsuit

According to the legal complaint filed in a Los Angeles court, violinist Brian King Joseph has sued Will Smith and his company. The suit claims Joseph was terminated from Smith's 'Based on a True Story' tour as retaliation for reporting an unsettling event that occurred in March 2025 in Las Vegas.

Joseph alleges "predatory behavior" by Smith, stating the actor deliberately groomed him for "further sexual exploitation." The complaint, filed on December 31, describes a harrowing discovery in Joseph's tour-booked hotel room. He reportedly found a sexual message, personal wipes, HIV medication, a beer bottle, and a name left behind. The note, signed "Stone F," read: "Brian, I'll be back no later 5:30, just us (drawn heart)." Hospital discharge paperwork belonging to that same individual was also found in the room.

Retaliation and Termination

The situation escalated after Joseph reported the incident. The lawsuit states that instead of receiving support, both hotel staff and the tour management accused him of lying and placed blame on him. Shockingly, just five days after reporting the assault, Brian King Joseph was fired from his position.

Joseph emphasizes his firing was for "pretextual" reasons, noting he was quickly replaced by another violinist. He was originally hired by Smith's company in November 2024. After his hiring, Joseph claims Smith began spending extra time alone with him, with the actor allegedly commenting, "You and I have such a special connection that I don't have with anyone else."

Fallout and Legal Ramifications

The violinist states he reported the hotel room incident to a non-emergency police helpline. Subsequently, a member of Will Smith's team allegedly shamed him for the report before informing him of his termination. The lawsuit claims Joseph has suffered significant damages, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and economic loss due to the wrongful firing.

Brian King Joseph is seeking a trial by jury to determine the full extent of the damages owed to him. As of now, neither Will Smith nor any representative from his team has issued a public comment or response to these serious allegations. The case casts a new shadow over the actor's career, following previous controversies.
