Will Smith sued by violinist for wrongful firing after reporting hotel room intrusion
Violinist sues Will Smith over firing after harassment report

Hollywood actor and rapper Will Smith finds himself embroiled in a serious legal battle as a musician from his recent tour has filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. The complaint, which paints a disturbing picture of events, was filed in a Los Angeles court.

Details of the Las Vegas Hotel Incident

According to the civil complaint filed on December 31, 2025, violinist Brian King Joseph claims a troubling incident occurred in March 2025 while Will Smith's 'Based on a True Story' tour was in Las Vegas. Joseph states he returned to his hotel room, which was booked by Smith's company, Treyball Studios Management, to find clear signs of an unauthorized entry.

The lawsuit alleges the room contained several unsettling items: a sexually suggestive note, wipes, a beer bottle, HIV medication under another person's name, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to someone else. The note, reportedly signed "Stone F.," read: "Brian, I'll be back no later [sic] 5:30, just us," and included a drawn heart. Joseph immediately reported the intrusion to hotel security and the tour's management.

Retaliation and Allegations of Grooming

Instead of initiating an investigation, Joseph claims the tour management accused him of lying and blamed him for the incident. Shockingly, he alleges he was fired from the tour just days after making the report. The tour itself ran from July to early September 2025.

The legal documents go further, alleging a pattern of predatory behavior by Will Smith. Joseph claims Smith had been "grooming and priming" him for "further sexual exploitation" since they first met in November 2024. The complaint states the two began spending increasing amounts of time alone in the months leading up to the tour.

One specific allegation quotes Smith as telling Joseph, "You and I have such a special connection, that I don't have with anyone else." Joseph also claims his bag, containing his hotel room key, was lost under suspicious circumstances by tour management at one point.

Legal Claims and Damages Sought

In the lawsuit, Joseph argues that "the sequence of events" and the "circumstances of the hotel intrusion all point to a pattern of predatory behavior rather than an isolated incident." He is seeking substantial compensation for both personal and financial damages.

The violinist states he made significant financial investments to prepare for the high-profile tour. Furthermore, he claims to now suffer from major psychological damage and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) as a direct result of the alleged hotel room intrusion and his subsequent firing.

As of now, Will Smith and Treyball Studios Management have not issued any public statement or response to the allegations detailed in the lawsuit, which was first reported by USA Today on January 1, 2026. The case brings forth serious accusations that could have significant repercussions for the acclaimed actor's career and public image.
