WWE Friday Night SmackDown aired its June 5 episode from the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy. The night featured two more opening round matches in the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, which began on RAW earlier this week. Additionally, Chad Gable returned to SmackDown, appearing in backstage segments, while the show delivered highly explosive in-ring bouts.
Opening Segment: Gunther Interrupts
Gunther kicked off the show by claiming he was robbed of the Undisputed WWE title match at Clash in Italy. Cody Rhodes responded, stating he was open to granting Gunther a rematch. Sami Zayn then joined the fray, leading Gunther to attack both men. The segment ended in chaos.
Queen of the Ring Opening Round: Bayley vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Kiana James vs. Raquel Rodriguez
The first match of the night was a Fatal 4-Way opening round bout in the Queen of the Ring tournament. It was a compelling contest as all four women competed fiercely. In the final moments, amid chaos, Raquel Rodriguez seized the opportunity to hit Kiana James with the Tijuana Bomb, securing the victory and advancing in the tournament.
Singles Match: Royce Keys vs. Talla Tonga
This singles match between Royce Keys and Talla Tonga saw both heavyweights deliver a hard-fought battle. The ending featured Solo Sikoa providing a distraction, allowing Tonga to hit a Chokeslam on Keys for the win.
Tag Team Match: Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill and Michin
This tag team match was scheduled after both sides, along with Rhea Ripley, had an in-ring altercation. The teams exchanged momentum in a fast-paced bout. In the end, Jade Cargill countered Tiffany Stratton's senton and hit a Jaded to secure the victory for her team.
Singles Match: Ricky Saints vs. Carmelo Hayes
This highly enthralling singles showdown featured recent heated rivals Ricky Saints and Carmelo Hayes. Both SmackDown stars delivered their best moves, but in the end, Saints used a pair of tights to roll up Hayes for the win.
Singles Match: Chelsea Green vs. Lash Legend
This relatively short match concluded when Lash Legend reversed Chelsea Green's Unprettier attempt into the Lash Extension for the three-count.
Main Event: King of the Ring Opening Round Fatal 4-Way: Trick Williams vs. Bron Breakker vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. Damian Priest
The main event featured the King of the Ring opening round Fatal 4-Way match. The audience was glued as the action spilled to the ringside area, with all four men delivering a stellar performance.
