Kalyan Student Scores 94.8% in ICSE After Fatal Accident

A little over a month after her tragic death in a road accident, the parents of Purva Kulkarni, a Class 10 student at Podar International School in Kalyan, were overwhelmed with emotion upon receiving her ICSE results. She had achieved an outstanding 94.8 percent.

Remembering Purva Kulkarni

Purva Kulkarni, remembered as a bright, sincere, and compassionate student, met with a fatal accident on March 26 while returning home with her mother, Pallavi, after watching a film at a mall in Dombivli. Their two-wheeler reportedly slipped on the road, and a speeding dumper hit Purva. As the results were announced on Wednesday, what should have been a moment of celebration turned into one of overwhelming grief and remembrance.

Mother's Tribute

Her mother, Pallavi, told TOI: "Purva had a deep love for literature since childhood. She even wrote fiction books during her school years. She was equally good in sports and never took any tuition classes. She was completely self-driven and dedicated to her studies."

School Principal's Remarks

Principal Sanjeevani Bose of Podar International School said: "Purva was always immersed in her studies. Even during short breaks between lectures, she would be seen reading her books. She was expected to score high marks, but today, instead of celebrating her success, we are mourning the loss of a wonderful student."

Family and Aspirations

Purva lived in Kalyan with her parents and elder sister. Her family runs a business. Upon seeing her results, her loved ones recalled that she aspired to become a pilot. The achievement, though remarkable, was overshadowed by the profound loss felt by all who knew her.
