AI-Powered Tribute 'Kothay Tumi Pancham Da' for R.D. Burman

In a heartfelt homage to the legendary composer Rahul Dev Burman, popularly known as Pancham Da, Asha Audio has unveiled a special musical project titled "Kothay Tumi Pancham Da." The release was timed to coincide with the maestro's 32nd death anniversary and was launched at the Yellow Turtle venue on Friday.

A Fusion of Nostalgia and Next-Gen Innovation

The tribute song is a first-of-its-kind collaboration that beautifully bridges the gap between cherished memories and modern technology. Sung by the iconic Padma Bhushan awardee Usha Uthup, the track has been composed by the trio Shiladitya–Raj–Som. The most striking feature is its music video, which has been crafted entirely using Artificial Intelligence to reimagine Pancham Da's presence on screen.

Apeksha Lahiri, Director of Asha Audio Company, expressed the project's vision, stating that "Kothay Tumi Pancham Da is our tribute to R.D. Burman’s timeless genius. It brings together music and technology in a way that both honours the past and excites today’s audiences."

A Deeply Personal Musical Journey

For veteran singer Usha Uthup, who shared a long and cherished musical journey with Pancham Da, participating in this project was a profoundly personal experience. The collaboration allowed her to reconnect with the magic of an era she helped define.

Shiladitya Chaudhury from the composer trio echoed this sentiment, sharing, "This was like walking down memory lane. Working with Usha Di on this project felt like connecting two eras of music—the magic of Pancham Da’s sound with the possibilities of modern innovation."
