Echoes of Earth Festival Returns to Bengaluru on Dec 13-14 with Eco-Conscious Theme
Bengaluru's Eco-Friendly Echoes of Earth Festival Returns

The city of Bengaluru is set to host the eighth edition of its beloved Echoes of Earth festival, a celebration that masterfully intertwines music, art, and environmental consciousness. The event will take place on December 13 and 14 at the Embassy International Riding School, promising a weekend dedicated to planetary connection and sustainable joy.

The Sixth Sense: A Deep Dive into Nature's Intelligence

This year, the festival adopts the compelling theme 'The Sixth Sense'. This concept invites attendees to look beyond the traditional five senses and explore the unseen, innate intelligence of the natural world. Organizers aim to foster a deeper bond between the audience and the planet, highlighting how natural forces inspire innovation and reshape our understanding of life. Roshan Netalkar, the festival director, emphasized the event's evolving mission, stating that each year they innovate to inspire the community towards planetary protection.

Sustainability and Innovation Take Center Stage

True to its reputation as Asia's most environmentally progressive music festival, a title awarded by A Greener Future (AGF), Echoes of Earth is amplifying its eco-credentials. The 2024 edition introduces groundbreaking features:

  • A 100 kVA solar-powered box office, flea, and food market.
  • Food courts operating entirely on compressed biogas (CBG).
  • All artist transportation handled by electric vehicles.
  • A strict no-plastic, no-flex policy with all signage hand-painted on repurposed materials.
  • Over 30 large-scale artistic installations and four immersive stages built from upcycled, reclaimed, and waste materials, including e-waste and discarded instruments.

Spread across 170 acres, the festival also hosts 'The Greener Side'—an initiative with knowledge-sharing sessions and immersive learning focused on sustainability and conservation.

A Musical Journey for Every Ear

The sonic landscape of Echoes of Earth is as diverse as its environmental efforts. The lineup promises a global fusion of genres including Electronica, Jazz, Indie, Afrobeat, Funk, World Music, Folk, Soul, and House Techno. Highlight performances will feature acclaimed artists like Monolink and Bedouin, ensuring an unforgettable auditory experience set against the backdrop of innovative eco-stages.

An Inclusive Experience for All

Designed as a festival for everyone, Echoes of Earth warmly welcomes families, children, and even pets. A dedicated children's zone will offer engaging activities and interactive workshops. In a family-friendly move, children under the age of 10 get free entry. The event also includes unique experiences like an exclusive brunch with performing artists, making it a truly inclusive community gathering.

By committing to being a fully zero-plastic and zero-waste event, Echoes of Earth continues to set a benchmark for how large-scale entertainment can operate in harmony with the environment, offering Bengaluru a blueprint for the future of conscious celebration.
