Renowned playback singer Harshdeep Kaur recently delivered a captivating performance that left audiences spellbound at the historic Baliyatra 2025 festival in Cuttack, Odisha. The celebrated artist, known for her soulful renditions, expressed sheer delight about her experience at one of Odisha's most prestigious cultural celebrations.

An Unforgettable Musical Evening

Speaking to media representatives after her performance, Harshdeep couldn't contain her excitement about being part of the grand festival. "It was a great experience. You can see the happiness on my face. The audience as well as the fair was amazing," the enthusiastic singer shared. Her radiant expression truly reflected the joy she felt while performing for the vibrant Odia audience.

The singer revealed her previous connections with the state, having performed in various cities across Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Jajpur. However, the Baliyatra festival left an exceptionally profound impression on her. "I was in disbelief after entering the fair. The decorations, the stalls and everything else looked so beautiful," she confessed, visibly amazed by the festival's grandeur.

Beyond the Stage: A Personal Wish

What made Harshdeep's experience particularly special was her desire to return to the festival not as a performer but as a visitor. "I would like to visit the fair with my family and not as an artist," she expressed, highlighting how the festival's charm had captivated her beyond her professional commitments. This heartfelt statement underscores the magnetic appeal of Baliyatra that transcends mere entertainment.

Baliyatra 2025: Celebrating Odia Heritage

The 2025 edition of Baliyatra carries significant cultural importance with its theme "Cuttack in Cuttack--Celebrating Odia Language and Literature." The festival, scheduled from November 5 to 12, might receive a one-day extension pending state government approval, allowing more visitors to experience its cultural richness.

Cuttack Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde elaborated on this year's unique focus: "The event will feature performances from Bollywood and Hollywood, but this year's main theme is to promote the Odia language and literature of Odisha." As part of this ambitious initiative, the administration plans to distribute one lakh books to children, fostering literary appreciation among younger generations.

The festival also features an innovative "Experience Zone" that showcases historical trade journeys through two anamorphic 3D screens displaying various scenes. In a beautiful blend of tradition and environmental consciousness, 25,000 sal leaf boats crafted by Mayurbhanj tribals will be released into the river, sending a powerful ecological message while honoring ancient customs.

Alongside spectacular performances from Bollywood and Hollywood artists, numerous cultural events, exhibitions, and awareness activities will enrich this year's Baliyatra, transforming it into a comprehensive celebration of Odisha's vibrant heritage and contemporary creativity.
