Post Malone in Guwahati: Over 20,000 Tickets Sold

The city of Guwahati is poised to become a major concert destination as it prepares to host global music sensation Post Malone on Monday. This landmark event is the first headliner under Assam's newly launched concert-tourism policy, a strategic move to position the state as a premier hub for international music and live experiences.

A Landmark Moment for Assam's Cultural Scene

Officials from the tourism department have confirmed a roaring public response, with more than 20,000 tickets already sold for the mega event. Fans continue to flock to purchase tickets, indicating a potential full-house at the Khanapara Veterinary Ground venue. Kumar Padmapani Borah, Managing Director of the Assam Tourism Department Corporation (ATDC), emphasized the transformative potential of such events.

"Assam is on the cusp of a major cultural transformation and hosting Post Malone in Guwahati stands as a landmark moment in this journey," Borah stated. He added that the new policy aims to stimulate the local economy significantly by attracting music lovers from across the country and beyond.

Economic Ripple Effect and Logistical Preparedness

The economic impact is already visible beyond ticket sales. City-based homestays are reporting a substantial surge in bookings ahead of the concert. Kousthav Deka, who operates a homestay in Azara, mentioned, "We are completely booked until next week. Guests from Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, and even a few from Delhi and Gujarat have already arrived."

To ensure a seamless experience, a coordinated effort is underway involving the district administration, city police, and the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). All departments are working in tandem to manage the large-scale event smoothly around the Khanapara Veterinary Ground.
