Three Men Face Murder Charges in Fatal Shooting of Rising Latin Artist
Los Angeles prosecutors have formally charged three men with murder following the tragic death of 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa, the Latin music artist known professionally as DELAROSA. The young performer was shot and killed while sitting in a parked car in the Northridge neighborhood over the weekend, in what authorities describe as a ruthless and targeted attack.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The shooting occurred on Saturday morning when De La Rosa was in a vehicle with two companions. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, three men approached the car and demanded money. The situation escalated violently when the suspects fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, striking all three occupants.
Maria De La Rosa sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The two other victims survived but suffered critical injuries and are currently recovering. The Los Angeles Police Department moved quickly, arresting a 27-year-old man on the same day of the shooting. Another 27-year-old suspect was apprehended the following day. An arrest warrant has been issued for the third alleged perpetrator, a 21-year-old man. All three individuals are residents of Northridge.

All three suspects face one felony count of murder and two felony counts of attempted second-degree robbery. LA County District Attorney Nathan Hochman characterized the incident as a brutal crime that stole a young life and inflicted profound trauma on the survivors and De La Rosa's family.

DELAROSA had amassed over 40,000 followers on Instagram and had released a single titled "No Me Llames" (Don't Call Me) in August. On her social media pages, numerous tributes have appeared, including condolences from Jimmy Humilde, founder of the prominent record label Rancho Humilde, highlighting the significant impact of her budding career in Latin music.
