Michael Biopic Steady at Indian Box Office: Rs 23.45 Crore in 6 Days
Michael Biopic Holds Strong at Indian Box Office with Rs 23.45 Crore

The biographical drama 'Michael', featuring Jaafar Jackson as the legendary King of Pop, continues its steady performance at the Indian box office as it nears the end of its first week. On Day 6, the film collected an estimated net total of Rs 2.30 crore across 2,722 shows nationwide.

Although the film experienced a marginal drop of 4.2% from Tuesday's collection of Rs 2.40 crore, it successfully maintained its earnings above the Rs 2 crore mark. This achievement is notable given the stiff competition from major domestic releases such as 'Dhurandhar 2' and 'Bhooth Bangla'.

With this consistent performance, the film's total India net collections have reached approximately Rs 23.45 crore, while its gross total collections stand at an estimated Rs 28.07 crore. Industry observers are keen to see if the film's ability to sustain weekday trends can push its first-week collections past the Rs 30 crore gross mark.

'Michael' has already emerged as one of the stronger-performing Hollywood titles in April. It has managed to hold its ground despite facing tough competition from domestic releases like Akshay Kumar's 'Bhooth Bangla' and Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar 2'.

However, the film is set to face fresh competition starting May 1, as multiple new releases enter the market. Among them is the Marathi film 'Raja Shivaji', a historical epic expected to benefit from its regional appeal and the Maharashtra Day holiday. Early trends suggest a Hindi opening in the Rs 2–3 crore net range.

Also entering the ring is 'Ek Din', backed by Aamir Khan's banner and starring Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi. The romantic drama is expected to open in the range of Rs 1–2 crore net.

On the international front, 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' is also slated for release, with reports indicating a strong debut weekend of USD 65–80 million in North America, while the film's collections from international markets are expected to fetch an additional USD 100 million.
