Netflix India Forges Strategic Alliance with IICT and FICCI to Cultivate AVGC-XR Talent
In a significant move to bolster India's creative technology landscape, Netflix India has announced a comprehensive partnership with the Indian Institute of Creative Technology and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding exchanged in October at the 25th edition of FICCI Frames, aims to develop the next generation of talent in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality sector.
Government-Backed Initiative with Industry Leadership
The MoU signing ceremony was conducted in the presence of Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, underscoring the initiative's alignment with national priorities. This tripartite partnership strategically combines Netflix's creative excellence, IICT's industry-driven curriculum framework, and FICCI's extensive network to create a robust ecosystem for creative-technology education.
Comprehensive Educational Support Framework
Under this landmark agreement, Netflix will provide multifaceted support to IICT students through several key initiatives:
- Curriculum Development: Netflix experts will collaborate with IICT faculty to enhance and update academic programs, ensuring they reflect current industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Industry Mentorship: Professionals from Netflix and its partner network will conduct workshops, masterclasses, and guest lectures to share real-world experience and best practices.
- Scholarship Program: Through the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, selected students identified in collaboration with IICT will receive financial support, creating opportunities for underrepresented talent in media and entertainment.
Institutional Integration and Ecosystem Development
To ensure deep integration and sustained impact, Netflix will participate in three of IICT's national councils:
- Research & Development Council
- Academic Council
- Industry Development Council
This participation will bring together leading voices from academia, industry, and policy to collectively shape India's evolving AVGC-XR ecosystem.
