Vikrant Massey has stepped into a new role as a producer with the upcoming Netflix series "Musafir Cafe," set to premiere on July 24. The eight-part romantic drama is co-produced by his banner Homemade Stories alongside Terribly Tiny Tales, marking Massey's first credited producing effort. Netflix confirmed the release date on Wednesday with a teaser trailer.
Series Details and Creative Team
The series is created and written by Sharanya Rajgopal, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Vineet Batra and Pracchi Batnagar. Anuj Gosalia and Vijay Subramaniam are the producers. Direction is handled by Ruchir Arun. The story is adapted from Divya Prakash Dubey's novel of the same name and unfolds across Bhopal and Mussoorie.
Plot and Characters
"Musafir Cafe" follows three strangers whose paths cross unexpectedly, gradually intertwining their lives. Massey plays Chander Mohan Sharma, a character still figuring out his own identity. Vedika Pinto portrays Sudha, a woman determined to write her own future, while Mahima Makwana plays Preeti, who remains composed despite shifting circumstances. The series explores how people who leave a lasting impact often arrive without warning.
Ensemble Cast
The supporting cast includes Adil Hussain, Rajeev Siddhartha, Anubha Fatehpuria, Loveleen Mishra, and Sadia Siddiqui, rounding out the ensemble.
Massey's Upcoming Projects
Beyond "Musafir Cafe," Massey is part of Rajkumar Hirani's first web series, "Pritam & Pedro," which also stars Arshad Warsi, Vir Hirani, Mona Singh, and Boman Irani.
