Allu Arjun, the superstar known for his pan-India appeal, commands a massive fan following not only in his home state of Telangana but also in Bihar. The 'Pushpa' star is currently working on one of his most ambitious projects yet—'Raaka', directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Atlee. According to recent reports, multiple distributors from Bihar are vying to secure the exclusive territorial rights for the film in the state.
Distributors Compete for Rights
As per a report by Hindustan Times, several distributors are prepared to offer exceptionally high prices to acquire the exclusive territorial rights for Bihar. Allu Arjun enjoys a substantial fan base in states such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. His previous release, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', performed remarkably well in these regions. In fact, many theatres that had shut down were reopened due to overwhelming public demand for the film. The first installment, 'Pushpa: The Rise', was also a massive hit in the Hindi-speaking belt. Consequently, expectations for 'Raaka' are sky-high.
About 'Raaka'
Described as a sci-fi action thriller, 'Raaka' will feature Allu Arjun in multiple avatars, showcasing his versatility. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is set to play the female lead, and reports also suggest that Mrunal Thakur, Janhvi Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna are part of the ensemble cast.
Allu Arjun's First Look from 'Raaka'
On Allu Arjun's birthday earlier this month, the makers unveiled the film's title and the actor's first look. The poster presents Allu Arjun in a bold new avatar, featuring a bald head with sharp facial features. He sports kohl-lined eyes, a receding hairline, and a thick grey beard. Partially covering his face with a clawed hand, he stares directly at the viewer. The pose bears a striking resemblance to his X (formerly Twitter) profile picture.
The film is expected to hit theatres next year. Meanwhile, after 'Raaka', Allu Arjun will also collaborate with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for another high-profile project.
