Shane Nigam's 'Haal' Trailer Out, Set for Dec 25 Release After Censor Row
'Haal' Trailer Released, Film Hits Theatres on Christmas

The much-anticipated trailer for the upcoming Malayalam film 'Haal', starring Shane Nigam, has finally been unveiled, setting the stage for its theatrical debut. The preview offers a compelling look into a narrative that masterfully blends romance, political intrigue, and high-octane action. The film is now officially slated for a Christmas Day release on December 25, having secured a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

A Release Forged in Court

The journey to the trailer's release was far from smooth, marked by a significant confrontation with the censor board. Reports indicate that the CBFC initially demanded cuts in a staggering 16 scenes, one of which allegedly involved the consumption of beef biryani. The production team, led by director Veera, challenged this decision in the High Court, arguing the cuts were unjustified and damaged the film's storyline.

The legal battle took a dramatic turn when a single-judge bench reviewed the film and overturned four of the recommended cuts. This decision was later upheld by a division bench, despite appeals from both the CBFC and the Catholic Congress. Notably, the judges who watched the film during proceedings reportedly enjoyed it, affirming that it presented a coherent and engaging plot. This controversy significantly amplified the film's visibility, keeping it in the news cycle long before its premiere.

Star-Studded Cast and Multilingual Appeal

Shane Nigam headlines the film in a pivotal role that drives the central narrative. He is joined by the female lead, Shakshi Vaidya, making her a key part of the story's romantic core. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring familiar faces from Malayalam cinema, including Johnny Antony, Nath, Vineeth Beepkumar, K. Madhupal, Sangeetha Madhavan Nair, and Joy Mathew, among others.

In a strategic move to widen its reach, 'Haal' is prepared for a pan-Indian release in five languages: Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada. The film is a production of JVJ Productions, with Nishad Koya handling the screenplay and dialogues. The musical score is managed by Think Music, adding another layer to the film's ambitious scale.

Building Anticipation for the Festive Season

Even before the trailer, the film's promotional campaign had successfully generated buzz. The first look poster and the release of the title track had already captured audience interest. With the trailer now public, the film solidifies its position as one of the notable Malayalam releases of the festive season. The combination of a controversial past, a promising genre mix, and a strong cast led by Shane Nigam has created substantial anticipation for its Christmas Day arrival in theatres nationwide.
