Lucknow: On Saturday evening, Lucknow Bioscope in Kaiserbagh became a crossroads of culture as guests from Indonesia, Ireland and Japan joined attendees for a musical evening.
Opening the latest edition of Adda Concerts, vocalist Neha Mishra began with ‘Shiv Kailasho Ke Vaasi’, inviting the audience into a space of reflection.
Founder of the musical initiative Saanjh aur Saaz, Mishra followed with ‘Aa Ri Sakhi’, ‘Mora Piya Ghar Aya’ and ‘Phero Na Nazariya’, where each composition felt like a chapter. Moving effortlessly between devotion, longing and joy, her renditions transformed the gathering into a shared emotional arc.
The second half of the event featured Varanasi-based classical vocalist Kunal Verma, who presented Raag Rageshri and Raag Soheni, known for their romantic and introspective mood.
Trained under Pt Omkar Dadarkar, Verma also reflected on his early exposure to traditional music through Doordarshan and radio broadcasts, as well as his inspiration from legends such as Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Pandit Jasraj.
The soundscape unfolded with Gaurav Banerjee on tabla, Prashant Tripathi on harmonium, and Narsingh Maurya and Rashika Lal on tanpura.
